lots of good places to start. . . I would suggest any of the DAT sourced recordings from 2004-5 as a starting point if you wanna check the new stuff, such as the World Cafe tape, or any of my Wisconsin tapes (Mr Wrong cuts off on the Shank Hall show, but they played Civil Disobedience which is pretty rare!). The three Knitting Factory shows from 2002 are a lot of fun, the band realized that it was BACK in January 2003 at the Abbey Pub in Chicago . . . so I think the shows from late Jan 03 have a certain quality to them that makes em fun to hear, and that was before the new album was written, so there is more of the older material than in the 04-05 shows which rely more heavily on the "new classics" from New Roman Times (which is a great album ,be sure to get it and give it a couple listens if you plan to see the band live.)

As for the older material, I just uploaded a 1989 FM broadcast from St Louis, which sounds ok, and is a fun set (not to mention it was my first CVB show) Um, the Catalyst shows taped by MarkP are at least decent, and showcase some older material that doesn't get played much anymore. . and the three Philly shows from 88,89,90 are also pretty good-sounding, not to mention the LA John Anson Ford Theatre from 1989 which is a keeper as well.

I would suggest downloading a song or two from several different shows in MP3 format to take a taste, and see what you like!

Also be sure to check out Cracker cause it's a lot of the same songs and bandmembers
